The Dive Sweetens The Pie

My Rating: 3 Stars
This was not my favorite Diva book. It started off kind of slow for me at the beginning. Then it picked up and added a couple elements I really liked. The mystery was pretty good from that point on. However in the resolution of the mystery there were a couple of elements I had a real issue with-much like Sophie did in the book. That drops my rating and overall enjoyment of this installment. So elements I liked versus elements I hated, average out to 3 star rating for me.  Still I have enjoyed this series so I will continue on with it.

Summer By The Tides

My Rating: 4 Stars
Denise has penned a nearly perfect summer beach read in Summer By The Tides. A great blend of of romance and humor with a dash of mystery kept me intrigued by the book throughout. This story would make a GREAT Hallmark movie! A great summer read!

Now And Then And Always

My Rating: 5+ Stars

Love, Love, loved this book!! Melissa has crafted a beautiful story that brings us back to the town of Maple Valley, Iowa which I have happily visited in several prior books. Of all the fictional towns that I have been able to visit through story, this is truly one of my favorite places to visit, and one I dearly wish was real!! In this latest story, we meet Marshall and Mara, two characters who captured my heart from the very beginning of the story. The story with humor, mystery and romance enthralled me from start to finish. Seeing two people who have been so hurt and broken in their pasts, find healing and love and a place to belong, made this story an instant favorite for me. Don't miss this book!

On A Summer Tide

My Rating: 4 Stars

This is a charming debut to a new series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. I loved the setting of an island on Maine and the fun characters the Grayson family meets when Paul buys an island of all things. Paul's daughters: Cam, Maddie, and Blaine are stunned to find out their dad bought an island. This book is a good intro to the series, giving us Cam's story mainly while helping us to get to know the other characters as well. This book was not without surprises along the way and I loved seeing this family strengthen their bond which had become frayed over the last few years. Fans of Irene Hannon's Hope Harbor series or books by Becky Wade will enjoy this new series. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Hot Fudge Murder

My Rating: 5 Stars

I have found a new must read cozy series in “A Lickety Splits Mystery series. I really enjoyed book one and book two was completely charming! I love the premise of this series, the characters are likable and relatable and the mysteries have been thoroughly fantastic! This latest installment kept me guessing through out the book and had several surprises all night the way. I am thrilled to have found a new cozy series to love! Can wait for the next one.

Living Lies

My Rating: 5 Stars

After thoroughly enjoying this suspenseful read, it’s hard to believe that this is Natalie’s FIRST book! The mystery and suspense were superbly crafted and made for a tough to put down story. The characters in the book took up residence in my heart and touched my soul. My heart broke for Lane and all that she’d been through. As someone who has struggled with a bit of depression over the years, the way this book handled that was truly extremely well done, in my opinion. All in all, this is a can’t miss book!

Becoming Us

My Rating: 5 Stars(and then some!)

This book was amazing. A sweet story of friendship, over coming hard stuff, and God's grace that my heart desperately needed. Robin is the master at creating 'soul stories," and this one truly touched my soul in several ways. It is a sweet easy read, and a wonderful opener to her new series.  As someone who struggles with loneliness and missing have girlfriends that live close to me, this book was a balm to my heart. It is lovely, lovely read.

The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions

My Rating: 4 Stars
This is my first introduction to Emily's writing but it won't be my last. I have had some of her previous books on my to read pile for awhile and after reading this one, I am going to make sure to read the others super soon! This book is full of practical and prayerful steps to figuring out your next decision whatever it may be. Emily breaks up the wisdom she shares into easy to follow chapters and includes great quotes throughout the book. A very quick easy to follow read with lots of great insight. Definitely recommend this book!

Wine & Punishment

My Rating: 5 stars
I wanted to read this cozy because I really like Sarah's Pancake cozy series. This one did not disappoint, if anything I liked this even better than the pancake series! This was a charming story with wonderful characters, a great premise(love the literary pub!) and an excellent mystery! It was a easy read and kept me intrigued throughout. This will be a must read series for me going forward!

Sweet On You

My Rating: 5+ stars
Becky has outdone herself with the finale to her Bradford Sisters Trilogy. Readers who have read Nora and Willow's stories previously have been EAGERLY awaiting Britt's story and I am happy to report it was all we readers could have asked for and more! Zander is a hero you can't help but adore. His devotion to Britt over the years is the stuff dreams are made of. (Insert dreamy sigh or swoon here!) Britt is tough as nails (Zander calls her a warrior princess-I loved that!) and refuses to ever be weak or vulnerable, even with the ones she loves most. Watching Zander break down those walls finally is a treat to read and I could not put this book down! Britt's career as a chocolatier was extremely fun and I loved that Zander was an author. The mystery surrounding Zander's Uncle Frank was interesting and very well done and kept me guessing at how it would all turn out. My favorite element of the story was the banter between Britt and Zander! It was hilarious. This book has it all: humor, mystery, romance, fantastic characters, a beautiful setting and chocolate! Truly what more could a reader ask for?? This is headed straight for my keeper shelf and my top 2019 reads, no question!

The Heart Of A King

My Rating: 4 Stars

I enjoyed this fictional account of Solomon and 4 of his wives. I haven’t read much if any Biblical fiction to date and this was a fantastic start to my introduction to this type of fiction. Jill weaves the story in an easy to read format and it was hard to put down when life intervened. Before reading this book, i had no idea that Solomon had that many wives and concubines! Definitely mind blowing. Getting to “know” Solomon and the wives featured in this book was interesting and eye opening to say the least. It definitely makes me want to go and read the actual Biblical account in Samuel and Kings. So I love the fact that it is increasing my wanting to read the Bible(which I struggle with if I am honest)! I am adding more of Jill’s books to my to read pile-especially “Redeeming Grace” which features Ruth.

The Hidden Corpse

My Rating: 3 Stars
This second cozy with Hope and her friends was a good read. The mystery was solid with several twists to keep me wondering. After reading both the books in this series so far, I don’t love the series like some cozy series I have read, but I have enjoyed them enough to continue on with the series. I do enjoy the food blogger angle of the cozy and the murder\mystery is well crafted. So a good set to try if you enjoy a good cozy!

It's A Love Story

My Rating: 5 Stars
This is a quick easy read of the funny bits and the messy bits of these things called life and love. Broken up into fun chapters full of the things kids of the 80's and 90's grew up on and with Lincee's trademark humor and writing style this book is super fun read! I loved the chapters on The New Kids On The Block and the RomCom movies.  I heard of Lincee through another blogger/author named Melanie Shankle and I have not been disappointed since adding her to my list of authors I love.   If you are looking for a fun read with spiritual truths sprinkled in, don't miss this one!
