The Curse Of Misty Wayfair

My Rating 4 stars

This book was extremely intriguing. I have come to thoroughly enjoy Jamie Jo's dual time mysteries. They are original and fresh and unlike any other books I read which makes them so much fun. Her latest "The Curse Of Misty Wayfair" kept me guessing at the threads of the mystery during the entire book and even though I had my suspicions of how it would end, it kept me guessing till the end. I adored the character of Emma and I am mighty fond of Rhett(swooning shall commence here!) The story had several surprises and a few really creepy moments(reading at home while my kids slept and my hubby was at work really added to the dramatic effect!!) had me devouring this book. One for my keeper shelf!

Spellbinding Read!

My Rating: 5 stars

WOW! This book grabbed my attention from the very beginning and it NEVER let go. I loved the characters in this book from Kaley & Noah to Alex and Solomon. There were several surprises along the way and I loved the way Nancy seamlessly wove together a spellbinding story. This is my favorite Nancy Mehl book by a mile and I can't  wait for the next book in this series!

Slay In Character

My Rating: 5 Stars

A solid installment in the Cat Lattimer Cozy series. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest visit with Cat, Shauna, Seth, Uncle Pete and the new batch of guests attending Cat's writer's retreat. The mystery kept me entertained and I all but devoured this story in the course of an afternoon. This group of ladies attending this retreat were fun and likable even with their escapades in trying to solve the crimes happening in the story. This has definitely been my favorite Cat mystery thus far.

In Too Deep

My Rating; 5 stars
Release Date November 6, 2018

AMAZING! This book was amazing. I read a LOT of Christian suspense/mystery books and "In Too Deep" was superb. I adored Sabrina and I really want to be a part of the gang's group of friends. I loved the humor element in the book, I laughed out loud multiple times, which was a great addition to the mystery and danger of the book. This had a great mystery and the character I suspected as one of the main bad guys was completely wrong, and with the amount of cozies and suspense books I read as well as the cop shows I watch that is HARD to do. I loved the first book in this series and now with this one, this series is safely my favorite suspense series ever. I need Gabe and Anissa's story NOW!

Favorite lines(some of them!):
"It's not that I'm not a morning person," Anissa said. "But no one is a four-hours of sleep person. I can't even pretend to be perky on anything less than five."

"We never ratted him out for being in love with Sabrina, did we?' Gabe laughed so hard he choked on his cookie. Anissa speared Ryan with her most disapproving look. Sabrina looked up from her laptop and shrugged. "You've already told me it was love at first sight, so this really isn't new information."

Yeast of Eden

My Rating: 5 stars
I very much enjoyed this latest installment of the Pancake mystery series, in fact I would say this is my favorite of the series so far. This story had a double mystery, the murder of the Waffle King as well as a historical family mystery in Marley's history. I loved the historical mystery addition. The killer was a surprise to me and that's hard to do. A great cozy mystery.

Hidden Peril

My Rating: 5 stars

This was a FANTASTIC read. I loved the characters of Kristin and Luke and the mystery they are trying to solve was intriguing and definitely had some unusual elements which was cool. It flowed well and the romance angle with Luke and Kristin was sweet to watch. I especially liked the parts with Luke’s sister Becca. She was a fun character addition and a nice balance to Kristin’s best friends being guys. Looking forward to the last member of The Treehouse Gang's story next fall!!

A Sparkle of Silver by Liz Johnson

My Rating: 4 Stars

A Sparkle Of Silver is a perfect introduction to Liz Johnson's next series of stories. I loved the characters of Millie, Ben and Grandma Joy. The treasure hunt they are on is so much fun to read and seeing if they would figure it out kept me eagerly turning pages. All in all this story was adorable! I loved that there were a couple surprises at the end and the way Liz tied it all up. A fun, enjoyable, sweet read!!

Deadly News

My Rating: 5 stars

This was a super adorable cozy and one for my keeper shelf. Likable characters(especially Sam!!) an adorable pup, a great setting and a fantastic mystery combine for a charming story that I thoroughly enjoyed. This new series is off to a great start and I hope for several more adventures with Molly, Sam and the rest of Britton Bay!!

Murder By The Book

My Rating: 3 Stars

I have been looking forward to this cozy for months! I came across it on Amazon over the summer and was immediately intrigued by it. So I was thrilled at the chance to be able to review it early through NetGalley. It was a solid cozy. Good characters and an exciting mystery with several surprises kept me involved. The writing did seem a bit choppy at times and there was a lot going on in the mystery aspects. While I didn't love this story, I did enjoy it and will continue reading the next offerings in the series next year when they release.

The Christmas Heirloom: Four Holiday Novellas of Love through the Generations

My Rating: 5 Stars

This is an utterly charming collection of Christmas stories by some of my all time favorite authors. Spanning multiple generations of a family with a broach handed down from mother to daughter made for some enjoyable stories and characters to meet along the way. Most of the stories have connections to the authors series, so to see the tie-ins there was completely fun. From England in the 1820's to present day Washington, there is a story for everyone and with the sweetness of Christmas thrown in to the mix, this collection is not to be missed!

A Christmas by the Sea

I was completely charmed by this short, sweet Christmas novella. Melody weaves wonderful Christmas stories and this is without a doubt my favorite of all of them! A Secret To Die For

This book is a solid 4 & 1/2 stars for me. I enjoyed getting to know Grace and Nate and their struggles and heartaches. Their losses and how they dealt with them spoke to me on a personal level as I have dealt with the deaths of two of my best friends, so that was an aspect of the book that I liked a lot. The premise of the book and what Grace and Nate are rushing to stop was more than a little scary to picture happening in reality but made for an exciting and captivating read. This was an easy read and kept me interested through out the novel. Highly recommend! My hubby will be reading it soon!

The Brave Art Of Motherhood

What could I do if I switched from I can’t to I can?

I have been working on this book for a few weeks. Filled with wisdom for stressed out, downtrodden moms everywhere, this book is a lifeline. Where I typically read my books as fast as possible, this one I purposely slowed down and read it a little at a time to digest the truths Rachel is trying to teach us. This is one I will chew on for weeks and months to come, trying to make the changes my life needs to become the best mom and person I can be. Not only for my kids, my husband and those around me, but most importantly for ME! I love my kids but life gets hard and messy. I am in that space right now and it's not the funnest. BUT I have hope that it will get better again, and I know what I need to do in part by reading this book. If you are a mama, or have a friend that is a mama, read this book!

An Hour Unspent

My Rating: 5 stars (plus about a million more!)
Every time I read a Roseanna White book, I think there is no way it can be better than it's predecessor. EVERY SINGLE TIME, she proves me wrong. I ADORED this book, from start to finish, it had it all: great characters, an exciting plot, humor, mysterious moments and two plot twists that were fantastic!!! I read this book in about 24 hours and would have finished it sooner if life hadn't demanded attention, while I was devouring this book. This book was basically perfect from cover to cover. If you like Christian Fiction that is chock full of romance, mystery, humor, a great setting and time period, and moments that will make your heart smile, then read this book!

A Worthy Rebel

My rating: 3 stars

Jody has crafted an unusual story in "A Worthy Rebel," the conclusion to her An Uncertain Choice series. There were parts of the story I really liked. It has great characters and I enjoyed the medieval time period setting immensely. However, the violent aspects were extremely hard for me. I understand the basis for them to further the plot but I struggled with those. I think that aspect could have been not quite so brutal. It was just a little to much for me and detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. It is a quick read which is nice with my looming to-read stack. This was my first read in this series and I am still excited to give those a try.

As the Tide Comes In

My Rating: 4/4.5 Stars
This was a charming book. Even though the sad aspects were a little overwhelming at times, I enjoyed this story from start to finish. The "Mamas" characters reminded me a bit of "The Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood, with their wacky but intensely loyal decades old friendship. That was a favorite part of the book for me as that is one of my all-time favorite movies. I literally read this book in one evening without hardly putting it down, and that is rare for me to read a book like that. Great message  throughout the book and a good and believable ending that didn't feel rushed. The only reason I knocked it down to 4 stars (maybe a 4.5 honestly) was because the tragedies of the book made my heart hurt. All in all, a pretty great book that will likely make it on to my keeper shelf.

A Deadly Brew

My Rating: 3 stars

This was another fun trip to South Cove to see the gang and solve a decades old mystery. This was an interesting story set in abandoned old house where the woman that lived there disappeared years before. This story has a definite ghost angle which wasn't my favorite aspect but the story kept my attention and kept me guessing. I am looking forward to my next trip to South Cove. It's a favorite book destination of mine!!!

The Southern Belle Brides Collection

This was a fun set of historical novellas. All were set in and around the Civil War times for the most part and were enjoyable. My favorite story of the collection was Thoroughbreds by Ramona Cecil. I very much enjoyed the aspect of the horse element and it was a great story. I also loved Debt of Love by Lynn Coleman and Above All These Things by Connie Stevens. Both of these were highly entertaining. A great collection especially if you like all things Southern!

A Rumored Fortune

I would give this a 3.5 rating. It was an interesting story and while I didn't love it, I did enjoy the story and a couple of surprising twists along the way. I liked the main characters a lot, Donnegan Vance is definitely a swoon-worthy hero from his introduction to the story to the end. This was a new author for me and I will definitely read her books again!

Called To Protect

Wow, this book is chock full of exciting moments and it is a suspenseful ride from the get-go. I enjoyed getting to know Chloe a little better and Blake and Rachel were great additions to this series. The mystery/suspense part of the plot flowed well an kept me invested throughout the book. Another winner for Lynette Eason!!

The Hope of Azure Springs

This is an excellent read by debut author Rachel Fordham. I thoroughly enjoyed the book from it's great characters to the suspenseful moments to the absolutely lovely ending that made me smile and shed a tear or two. The ending was perfect!  It was a nice, easy read that I read in less than 24 hours and it kept me engrossed from beginning to end. It has a great message in that losing people you love doesn't mean you have nothing left to live for, but that you need to live for them and the ones we lose never truly leave us. The book does have some sad moments but the takeaway is love is stronger then anything, even death. I will definitely read this author again!

All We Ever Wanted

This was a difficult book to read in some aspects. With the storyline of this book Emily weaves a compelling story told from 3 different points of view about an issue that unfortunately has become sort of commonplace in today's society. It is extremely well written and when you add in one of the viewpoints is a 16 year old girl, another her single parent father and the 3rd the mother of the boy accused of taking and distributing explicit photos of the girl, Emily has crafted an explosive story. My personal preferences generally veer to a "happier" story or a mystery, so while this won't go down as a favorite book for me, I did enjoy it. It did take me little longer to read because I had to take breaks from it but I am glad I stuck with it and finished.

The Reckoning at Gossamer Pond

Wow! This book was absolutely enthralling. I was torn between wanting it to end so I knew the answer to the mysteries and wanting more of the story. I couldn't put it down! It had a couple of jaw dropping moments for me (which is unusual!) and the way Jamie Jo wove this story was so exciting and mesmerizing. She pens unusual stories and they draw the reader in and they don't let go! This story was fascinating, enjoyable, and perfect for listening while I was in the car. I can not recommend this story enough if you like a great mystery...and it's bonus because it has two in two different times entertwined!

Welcome To Wishing Bridge

This was an absolutely charming book! I picked this up at the library because I loved the cover and the story intrigued me. I had never heard of it before spotting it on the new books shelf at the library. I am so glad I did! This one is not to be missed! I adored the town of Wishing Bridge. What an adorable setting! The characters were relatable and likable and I can’t wait for further stories about them. The story itself kept me entertained and made me smile throughout. It’s simply put, a nearly perfect book and is one of my top reads for 2018, hands down. I bought a copy for my keeper shelf!

Vanished In The Night

This was a quick, exciting read that I read on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. The mystery kept me guessing with several twists and turns and held my attention fairly well. It started off with a very exciting opening scene and it didn't let up once....glad my birthing experiences were much calmer than Kaylee's!! LOL! Another fun Lynette Eason read!

My Heart Belongs in Galveston, Texas

This was a fun look at Galveston, Texas back in the late 1800's. A Pinkerton detective and a reporter with a romantic history join forces to solve a decades old mystery. The story was interesting and the kept me wondering how the threads of the mystery would all tie together. Add the romance thrown in and it made for a fun Sunday read.

Dead Drift

Dani Pettrey has crafted an explosive (literally an explosion on the first page) and quite enjoyable finale to her Chesapeake Valor series. It kept me spellbound and engaged the whole way through as she weaved satisfying conclusions to both the cold case murder of Griff's sister and the terrorist threat that the team has been chasing through out the series. I loved the interactions of Kate and Luke and the ending wrapped everything up nicely. This has been a series that has been exciting and engaging for both my husband and I and he has been waiting impatiently for me to finish so he can read it too. All in all, if you love gripping Christian Fiction, read this series. It will NOT disappoint!!

The Orphan's Wish

This is another fantastic tale from Melanie. She has crafted a lovely tale with Aladdin and Lady Kirstyn, that kept me spellbound from beginning to end. I loved finally seeing Kirstyn's story, and meeting Aladdin, It was so fun to read and see how their story unfolded. If you like fairy tale stories, I highly recommend this one, it's got all the necessary pieces: great characters, romance, danger, a cool setting and time period, good guys and bad guys, and much more. I read it in less than a day so it's a quick and easy read and it is sure to hold your attention. Check it out!

Murder, She Wrote

I began reading the Murder, She wrote books in December 2016. There were 40something books out in the series at that time. Over the last year and a half or so, I have worked my way through the series. I read them out of order, reading the ones that struck my fancy at the time. They have become a favorite series of mine and reading them is like a trip to grandma's house and snuggling on her couch under a warm blanket. Even though they are murder mysteries, there is something comforting about them. I am sorry to say that I finshed the last 2 in the series recently. I am now completely caught up and will have to wait until a new one releases(the next comes out in November 2018). Since the longest I have probably gone between reading a MSW is couple weeks since I started them, I don't know what I am going to do now that I have to wait months for the next one!!!

This was another enjoyable MSW read. The plot with one of Jessica's books being made in to a Broadway play was fun and entertaining with great characters and a great mystery. Well worth the read!

This was a good mystery. It had an interesting plot and good characters. Not a favorite of the MSW series for me but still enjoyable. MSW is definitely one of my favorite series!

Silent Songbird

Another super cute read from Melanie Dickerson! I love every one of the books in this series and this was no exception. Loosely based on "The Little Mermaid" this was a great story that actually reminded me a bit of "The Princess Bride" (another favorite!). There were several things like Westley's name, a few plot points, an as you wish line and the priest. I don't know if this was intentional or accidental but either way I loved it! This was a very quick and easy read, perfect for traveling which is when I read most of it. Melanie's books are can't miss for me, and this one is another winner! Looking forward to the next book....which is based on Aladdin!!

The Alcatraz Escape

Another fun installment in the Book Scavenger series. I love young adult books that have to do with scavenger hunts, books or mysteries and this has all 3! It was a fun story with a puzzle game on Alcatraz that Emily and her friends are competing in. With mysterious characters, a cool setting and puzzles to solve, this book was quite enjoyable to listen to while I drove my daughter to an out-of-town doctors appointment. Highly recommend this book and the first two books in the series. This has been a very enjoyable series for me!

Memphis Cold Case Series by Patricia Bradley

This was an explosive read from start to finish. Tracking the criminal in this book was interesting and Patricia wove the story beautifully. I enjoyed getting know Rachel's backstory after her character was introduced in book 2 of this series and I liked Boone very much. He was a perfect match for her. The Elvis component was an extremely fun element that added a nice layer to the story. I did figure out the criminal about half way through but as I read a TON of mystery/suspense, that wasn't surprising, but my mouth still dropped open when I realized who it had to be, and I still wanted to finish the story and see what happened next and how all the pieces fit together. This is a great series and I will definitely read more by this author. She weaves a great mystery!

I was provided this book for review by the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

I am including my reviews for the first 2 books in this series as well. My personal favorite was #2 Justice Buried but all of them were quite enjoyable and quick easy reads as I read all 3 of them in about
4 days.

Book 1
This was a fast paced story with several twists and turns. The characters were likable and the mystery was interesting and flowed pretty well. All in all a book that was entertaining and I look forward to the next in the series.

Book 2
This was a fantastic story! From the characters to the premise, I absolutely loved this book. It drew me in from the very beginning and kept me enthralled to the end. The mysteries surrounding the museum and Kelsey's career were very interesting and unusual plot points and they kept me wondering what would happen next. I read a LOT of suspense/mysteries and this was one of the best I have come across. Great read!!

More Than Meets The Eye

Ahhhhhh.....This book makes my soul smile and my heart happy. I adore Karen's books(She is my favorite author for a reason) and this story is tied for 1st place with "Heart On The Line"(I love Amos <3) as my favorite books of her collection. I adored the spunky and sweet Eva and don't even get me started on the menfolk in this novel...between Logan, Zach, and Seth...cowboys with hearts of gold, the lot of them.  This story has it all: romance, humor, mystery, suspense, even a pet pig name Hezekiah! With all those elements this story is a can't miss read!!! I lost count of the times I laughed, smiled or sighed in happiness as I read this book. I can not wait for next book in this series, I need it now!!

I received this book from the publisher and author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
