The Orphan's Wish

This is another fantastic tale from Melanie. She has crafted a lovely tale with Aladdin and Lady Kirstyn, that kept me spellbound from beginning to end. I loved finally seeing Kirstyn's story, and meeting Aladdin, It was so fun to read and see how their story unfolded. If you like fairy tale stories, I highly recommend this one, it's got all the necessary pieces: great characters, romance, danger, a cool setting and time period, good guys and bad guys, and much more. I read it in less than a day so it's a quick and easy read and it is sure to hold your attention. Check it out!

Murder, She Wrote

I began reading the Murder, She wrote books in December 2016. There were 40something books out in the series at that time. Over the last year and a half or so, I have worked my way through the series. I read them out of order, reading the ones that struck my fancy at the time. They have become a favorite series of mine and reading them is like a trip to grandma's house and snuggling on her couch under a warm blanket. Even though they are murder mysteries, there is something comforting about them. I am sorry to say that I finshed the last 2 in the series recently. I am now completely caught up and will have to wait until a new one releases(the next comes out in November 2018). Since the longest I have probably gone between reading a MSW is couple weeks since I started them, I don't know what I am going to do now that I have to wait months for the next one!!!

This was another enjoyable MSW read. The plot with one of Jessica's books being made in to a Broadway play was fun and entertaining with great characters and a great mystery. Well worth the read!

This was a good mystery. It had an interesting plot and good characters. Not a favorite of the MSW series for me but still enjoyable. MSW is definitely one of my favorite series!

Silent Songbird

Another super cute read from Melanie Dickerson! I love every one of the books in this series and this was no exception. Loosely based on "The Little Mermaid" this was a great story that actually reminded me a bit of "The Princess Bride" (another favorite!). There were several things like Westley's name, a few plot points, an as you wish line and the priest. I don't know if this was intentional or accidental but either way I loved it! This was a very quick and easy read, perfect for traveling which is when I read most of it. Melanie's books are can't miss for me, and this one is another winner! Looking forward to the next book....which is based on Aladdin!!

The Alcatraz Escape

Another fun installment in the Book Scavenger series. I love young adult books that have to do with scavenger hunts, books or mysteries and this has all 3! It was a fun story with a puzzle game on Alcatraz that Emily and her friends are competing in. With mysterious characters, a cool setting and puzzles to solve, this book was quite enjoyable to listen to while I drove my daughter to an out-of-town doctors appointment. Highly recommend this book and the first two books in the series. This has been a very enjoyable series for me!

Memphis Cold Case Series by Patricia Bradley

This was an explosive read from start to finish. Tracking the criminal in this book was interesting and Patricia wove the story beautifully. I enjoyed getting know Rachel's backstory after her character was introduced in book 2 of this series and I liked Boone very much. He was a perfect match for her. The Elvis component was an extremely fun element that added a nice layer to the story. I did figure out the criminal about half way through but as I read a TON of mystery/suspense, that wasn't surprising, but my mouth still dropped open when I realized who it had to be, and I still wanted to finish the story and see what happened next and how all the pieces fit together. This is a great series and I will definitely read more by this author. She weaves a great mystery!

I am including my reviews for the first 2 books in this series as well. My personal favorite was #2 Justice Buried but all of them were quite enjoyable and quick easy reads as I read all 3 of them in about
4 days.

Book 1
This was a fast paced story with several twists and turns. The characters were likable and the mystery was interesting and flowed pretty well. All in all a book that was entertaining and I look forward to the next in the series.

Book 2
This was a fantastic story! From the characters to the premise, I absolutely loved this book. It drew me in from the very beginning and kept me enthralled to the end. The mysteries surrounding the museum and Kelsey's career were very interesting and unusual plot points and they kept me wondering what would happen next. I read a LOT of suspense/mysteries and this was one of the best I have come across. Great read!!

More Than Meets The Eye

Ahhhhhh.....This book makes my soul smile and my heart happy. I adore Karen's books(She is my favorite author for a reason) and this story is tied for 1st place with "Heart On The Line"(I love Amos <3) as my favorite books of her collection. I adored the spunky and sweet Eva and don't even get me started on the menfolk in this novel...between Logan, Zach, and Seth...cowboys with hearts of gold, the lot of them.  This story has it all: romance, humor, mystery, suspense, even a pet pig name Hezekiah! With all those elements this story is a can't miss read!!! I lost count of the times I laughed, smiled or sighed in happiness as I read this book. I can not wait for next book in this series, I need it now!!

I received this book from the publisher and author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Where The Fire Falls

I give this story a 4.5 star rating. While it didn’t keep my attention quite as well as its predecessor, it was a very exciting story with a breathtaking backdrop. I enjoyed the angle of Olivia’s backstory and her growth throughout the novel. I very much liked the character of Filbert and would have liked to have seen more of him and his backstory. My favorite thing about this story was the setting. I have never seen Yosemite in real life and now I really want to! Karen described it beautifully. This series has the most wonderful settings! Can’t wait to see where Karen takes us next!

A Defense of Honor

This was another fantastic read from Kristi Ann Hunter. This book has a very unique storyline and I was enchanted from the very beginning and was dying to learn the secrets and see how it ended. I was thrilled to see a familiar face from the Hawthorne House series and can't wait to see that character get their own story! The humor that I have come to expect from Kristi's books was there as usual and was as always one of my favorite parts of the book. This is another can't miss book!

Some of my favorite quotes:
"The most precious gems are forged from pressure. God brings beauty from adversity, when you let him.

"God doesn't always work in ways we can foresee. That's why He asks us to trust Him."

"What else had he missed in life because he was too focused on where he was going?"

The Boys of Hawthorne House

This was another great story from Kristi Ann Hunter. While it didn't have quite the humor of the previous books in this series it still had some pretty funny moments and a very enjoyable story. The character of Adelaide was sweet and I enjoyed getting to know Trent better. Great read!

The finale to the Hawthorne series was superb. In this last installment we finally get to see Griffin, The Duke of Riverton find his happily ever after. It's quite hilarious to see him approach love in the way he approaches everything else in his life, with slow methodical precision....since we all know that's how love works right?!?!? LOL! Isabella is a great love interest for him, mainly because she drives him crazy! It was entertaining to see their story play out and I am sad this series is over! Trust me when I say, I will revisit these stories again soon!
